Welcome to the website of the Weatherhead Teaching School Alliance. Weatherhead High School is an outstanding comprehensive school on the Wirral. We applied to become a Teaching School in 2014 and were successful.

The Weatherhead Teaching School Alliance launched on September 1st, 2014. The Teaching School Alliance is a consortium of partners from across the Merseyside and Cheshire Area who are engaged in activities to support the education system.

Our motto, 'engage, facilitate, develop, excel' is at the heart of the Weatherhead Teaching School Alliance's work. Activity in the Weatherhead Teaching School Alliance will be based in three key 'pillars' of activity.

Pillar One relates to the training of new teachers through School Direct and using the experience of partners to research what works best in the classroom.

Pillar Two involves the Weatherhead Teaching School Alliance's partners delivering high quality continuing professional development for existing school staff. This pillar will also organise a package of succession planning support for schools and a complementary leadership development programme.

Pillar Three will see the Weatherhead Teaching School Alliance working with key partners to support school improvement where we are invited to support a school in need of that support.

I invite you to explore the Weatherhead Teaching School Alliance's website for more information about our work and to contact us if you are interested in becoming a partner or participating in any of our activities. You can reach us by telephone (0151 631 4400) or email teachingschool@weatherheadhigh.co.uk
